After It Airs (TVD 9/29)

The Vampire Diaries
Season 3 Episode 3 - The End of the Affair

Summary (courtesy of The CW Network):
Klaus and Stefan arrive in Chicago, where Stefan is reunited with a vampire (guest star Claire Holt, "Pretty Little Liars") who hasn't really moved on from her interest in him decades earlier. In a flashback to Chicago in the 1920s, Stefan comes face-to-face with a shocking chapter from his wild past. After Damon gets a tip on Stefan and Klaus' whereabouts from an unexpected source, he and Elena follow their trail. Back in Mystic Falls, Tyler is concerned about Caroline and turns to Sheriff Forbes (guest star Marguerite MacIntyre) for help. Chris Grismer directed the episode written by Caroline Dries.

Episode MVP:
THE WRITER/DIRECTOR COMBO! This was a fabulous episode all around for all characters. The story was fantastic! (Picture me saying "Fantastic" in that amazing Joseph Morgan-y accent).  The episode gathered 2.70 million viewers and rose to a 1.3 adults 18-49 rating, up 8% from last week.

Favorite Episode Quotes:
Katherine: What have I missed? / Damon: Well, Stefan’s still Klaus’ little prisoner and Elena still thinks she can save him and no one’s thought about you since you left.
Elena: He’s in Chicago? How do you know? / Damon: Came to me in a dream. I was naked. You would have loved it. Start packing.
Damon: Is he okay? Well, let’s just say he’s not there to meet Oprah. Ooh…put these in the “yes” pile.
Damon: I’m shocked! Stefan’s not a virgin?
Gloria: You gotta be kidding me. / Klaus: So. A hybrid walks into a bar and says to the… / Gloria: Stop. You may be invincible but that doesn’t make you funny.
Damon: Stefan was a cocky ripper douche...
Klaus: So this is the famous Stefan Salvatore I’ve been hearing so much about. You’re right. He does have funny hair.
Klaus to Stefan: I was your number one fan.
Damon to Elena: Get dressed. You’re all road trippy and gross.
Stefan: So confused. If we were such great friends, why do I only know you as the Hybrid dick that sacrificed my girlfriend on an altar fire?
Klaus: I see they’ve opened the doors to the riff-raff, now. / Damon: Oh, honey, I’ve been called worse.
Tyler to Caroline: Would now be a bad time to give you crap about sneaking out on me?

After It Airs (SPN 9/23)

Supernatural
Season 7 Episode 1 - Meet the New Boss

Summary (courtesy of The CW Network):
Castiel (Misha Collins) doesn't kill Sam (Jared Padalecki), Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Bobby (Jim Beaver) but warns them not to interfere in his business. Assuming his new role as God, Castiel sets out to right some of the wrongs in the world. Dean decides they should bind Death (guest star Julian Richings) and order him to stop Castiel, but the former angel is one step ahead of them, leaving Dean to face a very angry Death. Meanwhile, Sam struggles to deal with the broken wall in his head. Phil Sgriccia directed the episode written by Sera Gamble.

Episode MVP: Hands down its Misha Collins. What a dynamic character he's been since Season 4, and now this drastic change last night was insane...which is why "Cas" was a trending topic on Twitter last night - which was well deserved. As you will read in the Zap2it review by Carina Adly MacKenzie "...we're too impressed by Collins' work in the final scene. He's played so many versions of his character on the show -- Castiel, Jimmy, God, human Castiel, and now, the manic, hysteric Leviathan. If this show wasn't on The CW, we'd be talking about guest-star Emmy buzz."

Favorite Episode Recaps:

'Supernatural' Season 7 Premiere Recap: How Do You Fight God? - BuddyTV - And I most certainly agree with this statement regarding Lucifer's conversation with Sam: "He'd better be lying, because I'd hate for Supernatural to do that."

Favorite Episode Quotes:
Woman on TV: We all saw him. No beard. No robe. He was young and, and, sexy.
Dean: Excuse me, do you have any Grey Poupon? / Sam: Grey Poupon? Seriously? / Dean: It's what popped in my head.
Lucifer: Hi Sam. Long time no spooning.
Dean: I just pray to God it's true. / Bobby: We need to come up with a new saying for that.
Castiel: You're wrong. I am utterly indifferent to sexual orientation. On the other hand, I cannot abide hypocrites like you, Reverend. Tell your flock where your genitals have been before you speak for me.

Season 7 Title Card/Opening Sequence (I like it a lot. Its kinda creepy):

After It Airs (TVD 9/22)

The Vampire Diaries
Season 3 Episode 2 - The Hybrid

Summary (courtesy of The CW Network):
Klaus puts a plan in motion that will give him even more power, but even with the unwilling participation of werewolf Ray Sutton (guest star David Gallagher), things don't go exactly as Klaus had planned. Damon and Alaric reluctantly go along with Elena's new strategy to find Stefan, leading Damon into a dangerous fight with an unexpected enemy. Jeremy turns to Matt for help as he continues to try to understand what the ghosts from his past want from him. Unaware that Caroline is in need of his help, Tyler faces an emotional confrontation with his mother (guest star Susan Walters). Josh Butler directed the episode written by Al Septien & Turi Meyer.

Question everyone is wondering: Where the heck is Bonnie?

What to Watch (Week of 9/19)

Before I get into this week's TV schedule, I want to talk a little bit about last night's award show.

So, of course I watched the 63rd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards last night. And though there were some odd moments (umm...who came up with the Emmytones idea?), overall I thought the night went okay. Jane Lynch did a great job in my opinion (though her opening segment was lacking), but her one-liners were hilarious. I'm just going to do a quick run-though of only those I was happy to see win. For a complete list you can check out Emmys 2011: And the Winner Are... - TV.com
-Modern Family really cleaned up with five awards including Best Supporting Actress Comedy - Julie Bowen; Best Supporting Actor Comedy - Ty Burrell; Outstanding Directing for Comedy Series; Outstanding Writing for Comedy Series; Best Comedy Series
-Jim Parsons won Best Actor Comedy for The Big Bang Theory, which I was so happy about. BBT has become one of my favorite sitcoms (along with Modern Family of course).
-Though I don't watch Mike & Molly, I was happy to see Melissa McCarthy take home Best Actress Comedy (and the pageant-like ceremony Amy Poehler kicked-off was hilarious).
-And Kate Winslet seems to be going for the EGOT1 with her win as Best Actress Miniseries/Movie for Mildrid Pierce. All she needs now is the Tony (calling Broadway!).
-Couple other quick notes include: Margo Martindale (Justified) - Best Supporting Actress Drama; Kyle Chandler (Friday Night Lights) - Best Actor Drama; Guy Pearce (Mildred Pierce) - Best Supporting Actor Miniseries/Movie.

In other news, here are my choice for TV I'll be watching this week. I'm so incredibly happy that my weeks a head will be filling up even more!!

Movies in green will be those that I will personally be purchasing and those in blue are those that I will rent first (and maybe buy after that) ;)
*Please note that this may not be a complete list.
