What to Watch (Week of 5/28)

As I stated last week, I will be spending my less busy summer television schedule catching up on TV shows that I should have already been watching, old shows I should have watched and am ashamed I haven't, and some that look pretty good, so I might as well watch. That being said, I've already watched Seasons 1-4 of Mad Men this week, so just need to catch up on the current season - you will see I have Mad Men listed in the schedule below, so hopefully I am caught up by Sunday.

My list: Sherlock Holmes, Revenge, The OC, Firefly, Kings, Dawson's Creek, Felicity, The Client List, Pretty Little Liars, and The Lying Game. Is there anything missing from my list? I'm also really in the mood to re-watch all of LOST again, but I really should watch the above first.

Monday is also Memorial Day, which means there are plenty of marathons to watch as well. See a full list here

What to Watch (Week of 5/21)

Since my last 'What to Watch' post, the Upfronts have happened. Find out what been renewed, cancelled, and picked-up by ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC, and The CW on my blog.

We've dwindled down to the last episodes of most of my fall and spring television viewing. Now the summer shows will be starting soon, and I'll be spending my time watching those, as well as starting/catching-up/re-watching on Mad Men, Sherlock Holmes, Revenge, The OC, Firefly, Kings, Dawson's Creek (now available on Netflix Instant!), and maybe The Client List, Pretty Little Liars, The Lying Game and others. I'm open to any more suggestions! Since this week is rather bare, I'll probably start one of these shows this week.

Since next Monday is Memorial Day, there will surely be some great marathons on TV, so be on the lookout for that next week.

Monday, May 21st
One Tree Hill (rerun) (The CW) 9pm (WATCH) | The series finale.

Tuesday, May 22nd
Legally Blonde (movie) (ABCFam) 7pm
Star Trek (movie) (FX) 8pm
Legally Blonde 2: Red, White, and Blonde (movie) (ABCFam) 9pm
Glee (Fox) 9pm (WATCH) | SEASON FINALE!
Hollywood Treasure (Syfy) 10pm | Lord of the Rings? I'm in!

Wednesday, May 23rd
Modern Family (ABC) 9pm (WATCH) | SEASON FINALE!
Auction Hunters (Spike) 9pm (DVR)
Don't Trust the B-- in Apartment 23 (ABC) 9:30pm (WATCH) | SEASON FINALE! What the what! Just found out the season finale was tonight and its only had 7 episodes! No worries though...it was renewed for a Second Season.
Law & Order: SVU (NBC) 10pm (WATCH)

Thursday, May 24th
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (movie) (ABCFam) 8pm
The Vampire Diaries (rerun) (The CW) 9pm | Why not?
Awake (NBC) 10pm (WATCH) | Series conclusion. Sadly this awesome show wasn't renewed. Shame on all of you for not watching. You really were missing out. I'm not mad at you, I'm just disappointed.

Friday, May 25th
Inglourious Basterds (movie) (TNT) 8pm | I mean its funny. And it has Michael Fassbender
Supernatural (rerun) (The CW) 9pm | Again, why not?

Saturday, May 26th
The Princess and the Frog (movie) (ABCFam) 8pm | This is definitely my least favorite Disney movie, but I did only see it once, so I thought I'd give it another shot.
Jane Eyre (movie) (HBO) 9pm | Probably my second favorite movie ever. Michael Fassbender as Mr. Rochester is...is...well he is. And who couldn't use more Fassbender in their week?
Beauty and the Beast (movie) (ABCFam) 10pm | I think this would have to be in my top five Disney faves for sure.

Sunday, May 27th
Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (movie) (Spike) 5pm
Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi (movie) (Spike) 8pm
Game of Thrones (HBO)  9pm (WATCH)

After It Airs (SPN 5/18)

Season 7 Episode 23 - Survival of the Fittest

*News* Great news! Supernatural will be moving to Wednesdays next fall on The CW! Just goes to show what winning the first ever TV Guide Fan Favorite magazine cover and two People's Choice Awards can do! Sadly though, The CW shows' seasons won't premiere until October.

Favorite Episode Quotes:
Dick Roman: How do you take it? / Crowley: Alcoholic.
Crowley: Not easy to kill me, but doable. Especially for you lot. You kill angels, certainly wipe a demon off the board. And yet here we are, negotiating like proper psychopaths.
Dick Roman: I’m talking free-range grazing for all demonkind. I’m willing to cordon off, say, Canada. You and your crew can work your little deals, have your way with the locals.
Dick Roman: We need America. They’re so fat.
Crowley: I can’t deny I long to see those two digested once and for all.
Crowley: You have a deal. I suppose you want it in writing? / Dick: I don't kiss on the mouth. / Crowley: Your loss.
Dean: Dude, on my car, he showed up naked, covered in bees.
Dean: Let’s bone this nun....sorry.
Castiel: Monkeys are so clever, and they’re sensible in that they leave the skins on the bananas that they eat. Is it really necessary to test cosmetics on them? I mean, how important is lipstick to you, Dean?
Castiel: Ah Sister Mary Constance...good choice!
Castiel: I could steal them from their cages, the monkeys, but where would I put them all?
Dean: Did you come here to donkey punch your old grudges or to help us end Dick? Pick a battle.
Crowley: Where’s the fun in clobbering a ball of wet fur? Text me when Sparkles here retrieves his marbles, I suppose.
Dick Roman: There are three rules to contract negotiation. Bring breath mints, get it in writing, and have a plan for when they screw you.
Castiel: Accept this sandwich as a gesture of solidarity.
Dick Roman: The last time we were in one room, it was inside that angel. As key players I need you up to speed on every aspect of the program, not just the sudden influx of happy, delicious stoners in your neighborhood. Eat up, the sushi’s made of fresh orphan.
Castiel: Do we need a cat? Doesn’t this place feel one species short?
Dean: You got anything to say on the topic of Dicks?
Dean: You let these frigging things in. So you don’t get to make a sandwich, you don’t get a damn cat. Nobody cares that you’re broken, Cas. Clean up your mess!
Bobby: Here’s to running into you guys on the other side. Only not too soon, alright?
Kevin Tran: Dick’s got creamer in his lab. He’s gonna kill all the skinny people.
Crowley: That bone has a bit of a kick. God weapons often do. You should put a warning on the box.

Sweets: Ringtones won’t hold up in court.
Booth: Sometimes you gotta work a little out of the system, Bones, for the greater good.
Angela: You wouldn’t kill anybody. / Brennan: I believe, under certain circumstances, I certainly would kill.
Booth: Let’s not change for this guy. I love you the way you are, Bones.
Brennan: Why do you think I missed it? / Wendell: Not because you’re the murderer! I don’t think that! I really don’t.
Wendell: I missed that. / Brennan: Perhaps you’re the murderer.
Booth: She didn't do it! / Angela: I know. But the evidence is going another way! / Booth: I’m the one who decides where the evidence goes and when!
Booth: What if he shows up to my house? / Caroline: Then you shoot him in the eyeball.
Angela: I’m just being selfish. If you go to jail, I don’t have anyone to go to baby group with
Booth: Can you just stop being so reasonable, please?
Booth: Fine. Knock yourself out! And I mean it.
Booth: You know she didn’t do it. Otherwise you wouldn’t have put that wrong address on the search warrant. / Caroline: I don’t know what you’re talking about, cher.
Hodgins: I just want to know how Pelant communicates with Skynet before he comes after me!
Booth: I’m gonna get my family back. You tell Bones that!”

After It Airs (OUAT 5/6)

Once Upon a Time
Season 1

Summary:
Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis, writers of Lost, have created a modern take on fairy tales with a female lead character, Emma swan, who has moved to Maine. The show revolves around the adaptation of fairytale characters such as Snow White and Prince Charming who have been brought into the real world with no knowledge of their true identities, due to the Evil Queen, who cast an evil spell on the entire land.

*Note* This "After It Airs" is a little different than all the rest because it is the first for Once Upon a Time, but the season finale airs this Sunday. Every week after the show aired I wanted to do a post about the episode, but I could never find the time to make up for all the episodes. So I decided this first post would be a little different, and then next week for the season finale, I will do the posts as usual (then continue them on through next season since it was renewed for a second season!).

Pilot (10/23):
Bail bondsman Emma Swan is confronted by Henry, the child that was given up for closed adoption 10 years ago. He asks her to come to his home of Storybrooke with him and explains that the people there are fairy tale characters who don't remember who they are. The boy insists that his adoptive mother, Mayor Regina, doesn't love him, and that Emma has a destiny to fight in a final balance and help good win once and for all.

The Thing You Love Most (10/30)
Regina tries to force Emma out of Storybrooke and out of her and Henry's lives permanently. Meanwhile, it is revealed how the Evil Queen released the curse upon the fairytale world.

Snow Falls (11/6):
Mary Margaret is astonished at the outcome after she reads to John Doe from the storybook while visiting him at the hospital. Back in fairytale world, Snow White and Prince Charming meet up for the first time.

The Price of Gold (11/13):
Emma tries to aid a young pregnant woman who is escaping from Mr. Gold. Meanwhile, in the fairytale world, Cinderella regrets making a deal with Rumplestiltskin.

That Still Small Voice (11/27):
As Sheriff Graham chooses a new deputy for Storybrooke, a mysterious sinkhole appears at the edge of town and threatens to have dire consequences. Back in fairytale world, Jiminy Cricket must make a life-changing decision.

The Shepard (12/4):
While Emma discovers that Graham is lying, David Nolan must choose between his wife and Mary Margaret after he falls in love with the latter. Meanwhile, in the fairytale world Prince Charming confronts his destiny.

The Heart is a Lonely Hunter (12/11):
After kissing Emma, Sheriff Graham begins to remember his real life as the curse weakens. Meanwhile, in the fairytale world, the Queen attempts to find someone who will kill Snow for her.

Desperate Souls (1/8):
Regina and Gold find themselves on opposite sides in Emma's attempt to run for Sheriff, but Emma soon discovers that the price of the election may be too great to pay. In the fairy tale world, a human Rumplestiltskin begins his quest to help his son by finding the power necessary to avoid war.

True North (1/15):
Emma tries to find the birth father of two children to keep them from meeting the same fate she had as a child. In the fairy tale world, the Evil Queen uses Hansel and Gretel steal an artifact for her from a rival.

7:15 A.M. (1/22):
Emma and Regina share a common suspicion over a newcomer to Storybrooke, while David and Mary Margaret try to cope with their feelings. Meanwhile, in the fairytale world, Prince Charming's wedding with King Midas' daughter approaches while Snow tries to cope with her feelings.

Fruit of the Poisonous Tree (1/29):
While Sydney seeks out Emma's help against Regina, Mary Margaret and David continue their clandestine meetings. Meanwhile, in the fairytale world, Snow's father King Leopold receives three wishes from a Genie, who warns him to be careful what he wishes for.

Skin Deep (2/12):
As Valentine's Day arrives, Mary Margaret plans a night out with Ruby and Ashley. Meanwhile, Belle makes a deal and Gold plans vengeance on the thief who robbed him.

What Happened to Fredrick (2/19):
David promises Mary Margaret that he will tell Kathryn about his true feelings. In the fairytale world, Prince Charming offers to help Abigail while looking for Snow.

Dreamy (3/4):
While Mary Margaret and Leroy rekindle an old and unremembered friendship during the Miners Day festival, Emma looks into the disappearance of Kathryn, David's wife. Meanwhile, in the fairy tale world Grumpy falls in love with a fairy.

Red-Handed (3/11):
Emma hires Ruby to help her at the sheriff's office, and to give the woman a chance to determine what she's good at. Meanwhile, the sheriff questions David about his possible involvement in Kathryn's disappearance, while in the fairytale world, Red Riding Hood and her fellow villagers are trapped in their village by a bloodthirsty wolf.

Heart of Darkness (3/18):
While Mary Margaret is arrested for the murder of Kathryn, in the fairy tale world James tries to stop Snow from killing Evil Queen Regina.

Review of THE VAMPIRE DIARIES - 'The Departed' - The TV Watchtower

Favorite Episode Quotes:
Jeremy: When you find your sister unconscious, you call 911. / Damon: Not when you have a parade of vampires at your disposal!
Damon:Have I told you lately how much I appreciate you not being the dumbest brother on Earth?
Damon: Our life is one big proverbial coin toss.
Alaric: I’m Elena’s guardian. I thought it was strange I didn’t get a phone call.
Caroline: Do you want tea? Maybe some vodka? Both will help you sleep.
Elijah: I will not revive Klaus in yours or even your children’s lifetimes. Perhaps that will finally teach him some manners.
Damon: No! No, no, no, no. Did I mention no?
Tyler: We’ve got to travel light. So what do you need? /Caroline: Just you! Maybe a curling iron...
Damon:You know, I’m not halfway out of Virginia, and Elena sells our souls to the Originals. / Bonnie: It was her call. / Damon: You know what else was her call? Everything bad, ever.
Stefan: That’s just in case there is no later.
Matt: Sorry. I over-honeyed. I suck at tea.
Stefan: An hour’s not enough to get you back to Mystic Falls. / Damon: For us to have our epic goodbye, Stefan? / Stefan: Not us, brother. You and Elena. / Damon: Well, I guess you’ll just have to say goodbye for both of us.
Damon: Since I’m possibly a dead man, can I ask you a question? / Elena: Yeah, of course. / Damon: If it was just down to him and me, and you had to make a choice, who got the goodbye? Who would it be? / Elena: I love him, Damon. / Damon: I get it. Stefan. It’s always going to be Stefan.
Flashback Elena: It’s Mystic Falls. Nothing bad ever happens here.
Damon: You are not dead. You are not dead!

Favorite Scene: Okay it's hard to choose because there were so so so many, but I love love love the triangle between Caroline, Klaus, and Tyler, and this just makes it all the more exciting.
Caroline sobbed as she told Tyler that Klaus was killed. Tyler said: “You’re going to be fine, Caroline. Tell my mother I left town like I was supposed to.” There was some kissing involved. Then he started to feel the effects of dying and told Caroline to run away as he started to turn into a werewolf. Everyone assumed Tyler was now dead. But after Caroline left, Bonnie arrived and Tyler stepped out of the shadows. It was there that we learned that Bonnie did a spell to transfer Klaus to Tyler's body! It was actually Klaus with Caroline the whole time! Gahh!

Favorite Episode Quotes:
Cherie: I feel like, in many ways, I could be Dr. Reichs. The only difference is, maybe, she went to college? But other than at, our essence is very, very similar.
Angela: Apparently, the movie is awesome. / Sweets: “Apparently, everything is.
Booth: Look at that, Bones! You got a monorail!
Brennan: ‘Cardiacal’ is not a word!
Jocko: We’re going to need a fresh corpse!
Brennan: I find this rather disillusioning! / Dr. Douglas Fillmore: I did too. Until I got my first paycheck.
Hodgins: Maybe if we solve this case, they’ll put us in the movie more!
Brennan: Please, please! I have been dreaming about making a movie my whole, entire life. Are you going to let one little decomposing corpse get in the way of that?
Mandy Oh: If you solve this, remember: It was all my idea.
Cam: I feel like I’m looking at our lab after a heavy night of drinking.
Brennan: That topiary is remarkable -- it looks just like a cello!
Brennan: You give me far too much credit, Dr. Fillmore. You are perfectly capable of recognizing your own inadequacies.
Blaine: I do my own stunts, but you are awesome!
Booth: His belt buckle says ‘Cooky.’
Brennan: The ice palace is stupid!
Fillmore: I’m gloating. I apologize. Canadians shouldn’t gloat.
Brennan: You’re being incredibly racist! / Mandy Oh: Not incredibly.
Jocko: All I’m trying to do is make some magic. Little bit of magic in an otherwise sad and cruel world! Why is that so difficult? / Booth: Why? Because someone has been murdered. / Jocko: And now my film’s being murdered!
Jocko: I’m not used to real things.

I Can't Wait For...Austenland

If you are an avid Jane Austen/Pride and Prejudice fan like myself, and love to read any kind of sequel to the book you can get your hands on then this movie is definitely for you. I read Austenland a couple years ago and loved it. I just found out there is also a sequel to the book, which I'll now have to read too! I'm so glad to hear they are now making the book into a movie. The movie stars Keri Russell (Felicity), JJ Field (Captain America: The First Avenger, Northanger Abbey), Jennifer Coolidge (Legally Blonde, American Pie), and Jane Seymour (Dr. Quinn: Medicine Woman, Wedding Crashers). The author, Shannon Hale, is actually really good friends with Twilight author Stephanie Meyer, who is also producing this movie (don't freak out people, she's just producing, not directing - plus I liked her books, it was the movies that messed them all up).

In the book, Jane is a young New York woman who can never seem to find the right man—perhaps because of her secret obsession with Mr. Darcy, as played by Colin Firth in the BBC adaptation of Pride and Prejudice (I myself prefer the 2005 Keira Knightly/Matthew Macfadyen version, but to each their own). When a wealthy relative bequeaths her a trip to an English resort catering to Austen-obsessed women, however, Jane’s fantasies of meeting the perfect Regency-era gentleman suddenly become more real than she ever could have imagined. Is this total immersion in a fake Austenland enough to make Jane kick the Austen obsession for good, or could all her dreams actually culminate in a Mr. Darcy of her own?

There has been no set date for a theatrical release of the film, only that it is supposed to hit theaters in 2012.

You can read a great article about the movie here from Screen Daily.

Dean: That’s a lot of fuss over a caveman Lego.
Dean: So Big Daddy Chomper lands here, he grabs himself some Dick.
Meg (to Sam): What up, Bullwinkle?
Meg: Hey Seacrest, guess what? Not a nurse, just playing one on TV.
Meg: He’s been like the naked guy at the rave ever since he woke up. Totally useless.
Castiel: Did you know that a cat’s penis is sharply barbed along its shaft? I know for a fact the females were not consulted about that.
Sam:  Metatron? You’re saying a Transformer wrote that? / Dean: No, that’s Megatron.
Castiel: Tree. Horse. Fiddler crab. I can’t read it, it wasn’t meant for angels.
Castiel: But in the end it was you, the Homo Sapien Sapiens. You guys ate the apple, invented pants.
Dean: So Kevin, you can read the chicken scratch on the God rock, huh? It is back in one piece I see. And you’re saying that there’s some sort of a ‘how to punch Dick’ recipe in there somewhere?
Castiel: Those racing dogs were absolutely miserable. They can only think in ovals.
Castiel: I don’t fight anymore. I watch the bees.
Kevin: This looks like a sex torture dungeon. Is this a sex torture dungeon?
Castiel: You seem troubled. Of course, that’s a primary aspect of your personality, so I sometimes ignore it.
Dean: Crowley ain’t the problem this year.
Castiel: Well, you know me. I’m always happy to bleed for the Winchesters.

Rebekah: You're supposed to be dead. / Alaric: I am.
Jeremy: That’s what happens when you decide to paint your dead guardian’s room in the middle of the night.
Klaus: And that is what makes you her better option. It’s a shame it’s not easier for Elena to see that. I mean, personally I think she’s wasting her time with Damon.
Damon: Hmm. Digital locator spell. Why the hell do we need you then?
Klaus: It’s OK, you’re safe. We’ll save Elena. You go straight home. You stay inside. Do you understand? Do you understand me? / Caroline: Thank you.
Damon: Why am I still alive?
Klaus: Once you’re dead, you won’t have to choose.
Klaus: But just between us girls, who would you have picked? / Elena: Rot in hell. / Klaus: You’re welcome. Sweet dreams, Elena. It’s been fun.
Tyler: I’m not your little bitch anymore.
Matt: Please, I’m more stealth than that. I’m like a ninja.
Damon: You know how these things pan out, Stefan. She’ll probably make a list of pros and cons and, at the end of the day, dump both our asses.
