If you are an avid Jane Austen/Pride and Prejudice fan like myself, and love to read any kind of sequel to the book you can get your hands on then this movie is definitely for you. I read Austenland a couple years ago and loved it. I just found out there is also a sequel to the book, which I'll now have to read too! I'm so glad to hear they are now making the book into a movie. The movie stars Keri Russell (Felicity), JJ Field (Captain America: The First Avenger, Northanger Abbey), Jennifer Coolidge (Legally Blonde, American Pie), and Jane Seymour (Dr. Quinn: Medicine Woman, Wedding Crashers). The author, Shannon Hale, is actually really good friends with Twilight author Stephanie Meyer, who is also producing this movie (don't freak out people, she's just producing, not directing - plus I liked her books, it was the movies that messed them all up).
In the book, Jane is a young New York woman who can never seem to find the right
man—perhaps because of her secret obsession with Mr. Darcy, as played by
Colin Firth in the BBC adaptation of Pride and Prejudice (I myself prefer the 2005 Keira Knightly/Matthew Macfadyen version, but to each their own). When a
wealthy relative bequeaths her a trip to an English resort catering to
Austen-obsessed women, however, Jane’s fantasies of meeting the perfect
Regency-era gentleman suddenly become more real than she ever could have
imagined. Is this total immersion in a fake Austenland enough to make
Jane kick the Austen obsession for good, or could all her dreams
actually culminate in a Mr. Darcy of her own?
There has been no set date for a theatrical release of the film, only that it is supposed to hit theaters in 2012.

I have been meaning to add this movie to my "I Can't Wait For" portion of my blog, but I do so many weekly posts now that I've been putting it off. Since a lot of TV shows are now on their hiatuses, I thought Thanksgiving Weekend would be the perfect time. And why not...since I am very thankful for Ryan Gosling (and Emma Stone).
The Gangster Squadis an upcoming crime drama film that chronicles the LAPD's fight to keep East Coast Mafia types out of Los Angeles in the 1940s and 50s. The movie is directed by Ruben Fleischer and is written by Will Beall. The film stars Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, Sean Penn, and Josh Brolin.
Ryan Gosling has definitely moved to the top of my favorite actors list after his last few movies (Drive, Crazy Stupid Love) and Emma Stone is definitely one of my favorite actresses (which is a very short list). She is hilarious in Easy A, and I loved her and Ryan's chemistry together in Crazy Stupid Love, so I know they will do great together in this movie too.

All that being said, I am pretty pumped about the fourth installment in the Underworld Saga - Underworld: Awakening.
Background information: Underworld(2003): Selene (Kate Beckinsale), a beautiful vampire warrior, is entrenched in a war between the vampire and werewolf (known as Lycans in the movie) races. When she comes across Michael Corvin (Scott Speedman) who holds the key to end the war she must decide where her allegiances will lie.
Underworld: Evolution (2006): Beginning where Underworld finished, Selene and Michael (now a lycan-vampire hybrid) are on the run from the vampires. The film goes back to the beginnings of the ancient feud between the two tribes the lovers try to unlock the secrets of their bloodlines.
Underworld: Rise of the Lycans (2009): This film is a prequel to the previous two films and is centered on the centuries-old blood feud between the aristocratic vampires and their Lycan slaves.
Now for the main event!
Underworld: Awakening (January 20, 2012): Selene wakes up after 12 years and escapes imprisonment to find herself in a world where humans have discovered the existence of both Vampire and Lycan clans, and are conducting an all-out war to eradicate both immortal species.
Extra things you may need to know about the movie:
-IT WILL BE RELEASED IN 3D | That should come as a surprise to no one considering almost everything is being released in 3D these days.
-SCOTT SPEEDMAN IS RUMORED TO RETURN AS MICHAEL | When I first heard the this movie was coming out, the first thing I checked for if Speedman would be returning, and to my dismay, IMDB did not have him listed and I couldn't find any news on it anywhere online. But, as you will see in the trailer, Selene asks about Michael, and BOOM! Scott Speedman is rumored to be in the film on IMDB. Though I rumor is not a confirmation, I am happy about it. -TRIVIA: The movie was originally titled Underworld: New Dawn, but they thought that was too close to The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn.

This movie popped up in my Twitter feed this afternoon and I couldn't wait to share it with you. There isn't much information yet on it, but what I've read so far, I like.
Carlo Carlei'sRomeo and Julietis due out in 2012, but with it only being in pre-production, that could be false. The best news is, is that it will star (rumored, but I hope its true) Paul Wesley (The Vampire Diaries) as Paris and Ed Westwick (Gossip Girl) as Tybalt. These are two of my favorite CW men and I cannot wait to see them in a movie together! Fingers crossed!
I was working at the video store yesterday and decided I wanted to take home The Young Victoria to watch again, since I absolutely love historical/period romance movies. Then, of course I started thinking of Pride and Prejudice, because as I said countless times before, it is my all-time favorite movie and love story. So that then led me to check out what other movies Keira Knightley was working on.
Knightley, Wright, Macfadyen
To my pleasant surprise I discovered that she, Matthew Macfadyen (Mr. Darcy in P&P) and Joe Wright (Director of P&P) would be working together on Anna Karenina. Yippee! Sadly, Keira and Matthew will be playing brother and sister this time (but hopefully that means a lot of scenes together). Joining my favorite team will be Saoirse Ronan, who - as I mentioned in my "Movie of the Week" post - starred in Atonementwith Keira. More cast includes Domhnall Gleeson (Bill Weasley from the Harry Potter movies) and Jude Law.
The movie of course is based off the novel by Leo Tolstoy in which Anna is trapped in a loveless marriage and looks for a better life, but finds only a more complicated one.
Filming of the movie will start in September of this year, and the movie has yet to have a release date except for "sometime in" 2012. I will be waiting on pins and needles!
